Self-guided tour
Discover the Grande Armée Column at your own pace by climbing its 269 steps and wandering freely around the museum and its grounds.

Visit documents are available free of charge from the monument reception desk. Available in 6 languages (French, English, German, Italian, Spanish and Dutch).
Guided tour
Every Friday at 11am, the monument's staff will take you on a guided tour of the history of the Grande Armée Column, from the Boulogne camp to the presentation of the Légion d'Honneur.

Book on 06 72 92 44 22. Duration: approximately 1 hour. No extra charge for admission. On the last friday of each month, a specific theme is explored. ATTENTION The guided tour on Friday, November 7, 2025, is canceled.
Family events
During the school holidays and on the occasion of national events, tours and workshops for children are offered to help them discover the column while having fun.

Every year, the Colonne de la Grande Armée takes part in the following events: Monument Jeu d'Enfant, on the 1st weekend of the All Saints' holiday, and Rendez-vous aux jardins, on the 1st weekend of June.
